Kate Makeup Review : High Grade Cover Powder

Hey guys!

I honestly don't know how long it's been since I last posted... and I am SO SORRY!
Blogging was way much more harder than I expected, and I had some exams here and there making me forget to blog. BUT I am finally back, and I have so much to talk about!

I am going to start out with the KATE HIGH GRADE COVER POWDER.

Kate Tokyo, to be exact, is a brand based in Japan (if you couldn't already tell).
It's sold in drugstores, just like in Singapore, but it's a little bit more up there in price for a drugstore products. As you can see from their commercials, websites, and displays, Kate has a very seductive, sexy vibes. Their best selling product is the Kate Designing Eyebrow N.

Here's what the packaging looks like.

Packaging :
It's plastic and feels a little bit cheap, but not too much. Very sleek and simple. It doesn't have a mirror (sadly), but it does come with a sponge. I've been using it for a while and the sponge got really dirty, so I can't really show it to you guys 😅 . To be honest it's quite bulky, and might not be travel friendly. The packaging isn't great or mind blowing, but it is easy to use.

This is what the inside looks like :

The important part : The shade I have is LB (Light Beige)

(On the right is a direct swatch, on the left I blended it out a little bit)

Good parts : It does a great job at evening and smoothening your skin out. Once you blend it out, it gives a very nice and bright appearance to your skin. It doesn't make your foundation look cakey. If you only use this as your base, it won't cover up everything, but gives a nice, bright yet natural appearance to your skin. If you use this as setting powder over a liquid foundation, it helps boost the coverage up. It's also good at keeping your face matt.

Down parts: On the website it says it "Covers visible pores, dark spots, and redness to instantly create even and smooth skin". Most of the part, I agree with this claim. But personally this powder does not cover up redness or dark spots, but softens them out. Also, they only have two shades, (mine being the lighter one) which isn't very convenient for many. It also has a yellow undertone to it so if you have a pink one, it might not work out for you.

Over all opinion :
I love this product. It's very natural, but still has coverage. As a student, I appreciate how light it looks and feels. Also as a person who doesn't have a lot of time in the morning, it's easy to throw on, keeping my face matt throughout the day in the humid climate Singapore is.
